Marine Loading Arms

Marine loading arms are special equipment for loading and unloading fluid materials cross over the wharf and tankers, with pipelines connected by swivel joints, and supplemented by supporting structure, and other accessories such as control systems required by customers.

At present, our marine loading arms include series AM61, AM62, AM63, AM64.

According to the features of service liquid, different temperature and clients’ special request, the pipeline material can be carbon steel, stainless steel and heating trace; and the operation mode can be designed as manual or electro-hydraulic control as per nominal diameter, types, load requirements.

During the fluid transmission process, the arm can move with the drift range of the ship tanker. It can also be set with an acoustic-optical alarm device, to provide acoustic-optical alarm through travel monitoring system in case the pipe drifts beyond the specified operating range.

The design depends on different requirement and environment, including tidal difference, vessel tonnage, service liquid, nominal diameter, pressure and environmental data ( include max. Wind speed, temperature and earthquake loads).

Unless specified, our environmental design parameters are as below:

Wind speed at stand still (stowed) condition≦30M/S

Wind speed in the operating condition≦16M/S

Earthquake resistance parameter 0.3G

Marine Loading Arms Types:

AM61 – Self support single pipe marine loading arms with double counterweight

Features:

The pipeline itself is as the supporting system of loading arms. Outer arm and inner arm each has its own counterweight system. The moving parts and external loads are taken by the swivel joints. The structure is simple, suitable for light-tonnage vessels and shorter arm operation.

AM62 – Mixed support single pipe marine loading arms with single counterweight

Features:

Part of the pipeline provides support to the loading arms, but most of the loads are supported by an independent or auxiliary system. Inner and outer arms share one counterweight system. It is with compact structure, suitable for large-tonnage vessel and longer arm operation.

AM63- Independent support single pipe marine loading arms with single counterweight

Features:

The supporting system and pipelines are separated from each other. All the weight and external loads are taken by the supporting system. Pipelines and swivel joints don’t bare extra loads, so the swivel joints have longer service life. Inner and outer arms share one counterweight system, suitable for large-tonnage vessel and longer arm operation.

AM64- Independent support double pipe marine loading arms with single counterweight

Features:

On the basis of AM63, this type has extra vapor return pipeline. The vapor and liquid pipeline move synchronously. Inner and outer arms share one counterweight system which is independent from pipelines. Pipelines and swivel joints don’t bare extra loads, so the swivel joints have longer service life. It has compact structure and commonly used for LNG operation.
